Earthquake Aftermath In Haiti

We Need Your Hands Of Love!!

Things are out of hands in Haiti now. The earthquake hit Haiti in about 35 seconds but the aftermath will last for about 5 to 10 years, and thousands will ultimately die from all kind of causes. People are starving and they are sleeping under the tents on the streets to avoid aftershocks and the worse scenario is that they are now in the raining season. Schools are not functionning. The unemployment is quadriple. The diseases are scalating. Therefore, we need every body to join hands with us in this great battle. Voice of Christ has a great vision to save and to serve. Let us all be a servant at this critical time. Let us take advantage of this great opportunity not to be an hero but to leave an awesome legacy for our children, our grand children and our great grand children and more than ever to reinforce the mission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the lives of these unfortunates. God could have sent his angels to help but, in his mercy, he is giving us this great opportunity to be a servant in the lives of others. This is something we cannot take lightly. With the great help of Jesus Christ, with your prayers and your help, Haiti will go through this with great victory. She will go from the profound spiritual darkness to the brightest light of Jesus Christ, from proverty to prosperity and will work in the great years of refreshing and the great abundance.  Haiti has a great and incredible history and they are great people.

Let's ask all of us this question. What would Jesus do? (WWJD)

Let us act promptly on His behalf.

There is an urgent need for volunteer medical personel and construction workers.

We have an urgent need to put up a large building for the orphanage and for the school, to accomodate the growth. Our goal is to take as many as 200 kids from the street of Port-au-Prince to our orphanage. Would you like to come to help at any way possible. Check the Application Mission page and fill out an application, just to have you and our record. If you are a leader of a group, just your application is enough. We are looking forward to have you with us. We want to tell you that just only your presence will do such a great impact in the lives of these unfortunates. Or if you like, you can sponsor a child at $20.00 a month. For more info, check "Save a Child" Page.

We would like to thank you so much for your prayers. The vehicle is not too urgent anymore. God has blessed us with a 4X4 Nissan Pathfinder 1997. It is in a perfect condition.

Now let's move on to our construction project and the feeding program.

Our motto is: "Blessed is he that helping the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth... Psalms 41:1 and 2.

Let the Lord speaks to your heart and act promptly.

Jesus said:
In Matt 25:35-36

35: For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger; and you invited Me in. 36 Naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to me.

 Mark 9:37
"Whoever receives one child like this in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me does not receive Me, but Him who sent me.".

Matt 10:42
2 "And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you he shall not lose his reward."

Toys distribution. These kids have never seen a toy or play with a toy in their all lives. Even their parents are asking for toys. Because they never had chance to play with one when they were kids. Think how blessed you are.

Dispensing medicine

For the 10, 000 people of our remote village, our ministries purchase over the counter medication to supplement the lack of access to physicians….

 Our Vision

1 Evangelism

Our vision is to take care of these Haitians people spiritually and physically through the Good News of Jesus Christ and through our feeding program.

2 Education and Health

Here is the reality of Haiti based on these statistics

Per capita annual income is less than $400.00

80% of the population lives in poverty

More than 2/3's of the work force do not have job

Less half of the population has running water

4% of the rural population has electricity

Only 2.5 doctors per 10,000 inhabitants

Infant mortality is the highest in the hemisphere (79 per 1,000 live births)

Life expentency is 52 years

The adult HIV/Aids prevalence rate is 5.6%

75% are illeterate, only 25% literate

40% of Haiti's schools have no actual buildings

Thefore, Voice of Christ put a lot of emphasis on Education and Health.

Our Place of Ministry

We are working mostly in the rural areas of Haiti in a village called Lecanta closed to Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye,  East of Marchand Dessalines( look our map on the picture gallery page). We are less than 100 miles away from Port-au-Prince.The rural areas in Haiti are the most neglected places in the country where there is a complete absence of almost everything such as: School, food, medical center, clean water etc. Unfortunately it is the reality of the whole of nation. The rural areas represent about 60 to 65% of the Haitian population.
The actual Haitian population is about 9 million.

Our Immediate Needs

  1. It is imperative to build a bigger school building, the children's home, and the medical center as soon as is absolutely possible.

2. We need to keep our feeding program running by shipping full containers of rice, beans, oil, peanut butter, clothes, school furnitures and medical supply.

3. We need to buy hundreds of French Bibles.  We have already established contact with a christian library called"Depot du livre chretien" in Quebec Canada. The price for one Bible is $6.85, plus shipping and handling. They will be shipping directly from Canada to Haiti.

5. We need to drill at least one well to provide drinking water for our campus and for the community.

At the end, we are inviting you to come for a visit. It is a trip worth making. Go to Mission Application from this page ad fill one out.

We especially ask you to pray for this ministry that God will bless and move on the hearts of His people so that they will supply the needs of VOCIH and thereby be mightily blessed as promised in His Word.
